Korean songs and their non-Korean counterparts.

Korean songs and their non-Korean counterparts.

Example 1
Timeless
English: Kelly Clarkson & Justin Guarini
Korean: Zhang Liyin & Xiah Junsu

For those who don't know this song, it was on the soundtrack of the movie, "From Justin to Kelly", starring the Winner and Runner-up of American Idol season 1 themselves, Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini. While the movie itself was a box office bomb, the song is actually incredibly nice.

More about their Korean counterparts, Zhang Liyin (Jang Ri In) is the first Chinese singer to break into the Korean market, debuting under SM Entertainment. Her first single is a remake of Kelly Clarkson's song, which she sang along with fellow label-mate, Xiah Junsu of DBSK.

Kelly Clarkson & Justin Guarini:

No official MV available btw,

And here's Zhang Liyin & Xiah Junsu:

Han Kyung and Siwon of Super Junior are the lead males here. Lee Yeonhee is the lead female, all 3 of which are also under SM.

Which is better?
It was kind of difficult to decide. For the male voice, some say Junsu put much more soul into it, but i think Justin Guarini did just fine. For the female voice i clearly think Kelly Clarkson did the song better. I dun think i have ever doubted Kelly's vocal prowess. Still, the Koreans gave an awesome MV to the song. There's a prequel to the video actually. Both combine to tell a touching tale of a Timeless Love.

Example 2
Right Round
English: Flo Rida
Korean: DJ Shine

A newer song. Was nvr really a fan of this song, but i admit sometimes its pretty fun to listen to, especially at the end credits of the movie, The Hangover. The song itself is actually a remake of a 1984 song, "You Spin Me Round" by Dead or Alive. Flo Rida topped a few charts with this one, and a Korean remake soon followed.

DJ Shine is a hip hop artist originally from the group, Drunken Tiger. Drunken Tiger is said to have reformed the Korean music industry with their unique hip-hop sound and realistic lyrics
. So when the first song released by DJ Shine after going solo was a remake, many fans were disappointed.

Flo Rida:

And here's DJ Shine:

Which is better?
I dun have a clear opinion on this cuz the song isnt that great to me. But if i were to consider myself as a Drunken Tiger fan, i would definitely be disappointed with this song of DJ Shine's. With that said, Flo Rida wins this right round. (ha-ha-ha)

Example 3
Deal With It/Juliette
English: Corbin Bleu
Korean: SHINee

The song Deal With It is a song on the debut album of Corbin Bleu, of High School Musical fame. A fairly catchy song to me.

It was soon remade by SM Entertainment, for the boy band, SHINee. SHINee gained quite abit of success with this song, but i'm just not feeling it. AMIGO and Replay were far better songs.

Corbin Bleu:

SHINee:

Which is better?
I really cant make a decision on this one. Vocally, i guess SHINee is better, but for some reason this song suits Corbin better? This one's a draw i guess.

Example 4
Tell Me Your Wish/Raqsga Tushgin (?)
Korean: Girls Generation (SNSD)
UZBEKISTAN: Dineyra

Alright, this time round, its nt English vs Korean. This round we are featuring an Uzbekistan pop singer, Dineyra. Dineyra was actually the first to release this song but because Uzbekistan music isnt exactly mainstream, the song pretty much didnt cross boundaries.

But when SNSD of SM Entertainment sings it, half of Asia sings along. "Tell Me Your Wish" was not as successful as "Gee" but it still was quite a big hit. The controversy dat arose was that a few weeks after TMYW was released, resourceful netizens found the Dineyra version which was released earlier. Anti-fans were quick to pounce on this, claiming that SNSD had plagiarised. The truth it, it was Dineyra's agency that had acquired the song without any permission.

Dineyra:

SNSD:

Which is better?
I actually felt that Dineyra's version didnt sound half bad at all. But if 2 women heads are better than 1, then what about 9? Clear win for SNSD.

Example 5 (i'm gonna be done soon)
Under My Skin/Mirotic
English: Sarah Connor
Korean: DBSK

I don't know much about Sarah Connor, but i know she's not the Sarah Connor from The Terminator series. This Sarah Connor is a German singer who is said to be one of the most successful, with sales of more than 12 million copies worldwide.

Still, it is the Korean counterpart DBSK's version that we are more familiar with. The song was originally written for the German singer, but SM Entertainment (notice i've mentioned them 4 times alr) also bought the rights to this song and gave it to DBSK, who turned this song into one of their greatest hits, so much so that it spawned a Japanese version, and even a Mandarin version.

Sarah Connor:

DBSK:

Which is better?
I must say, both are amazing. Sarah Connor is HOT. And honestly speaking, i once had a inferiority complex when i looked at DBSK's Jaejoong. I think he's way too perfect. He's hot. Okay, moving on, i want to say that its a draw, but that wudnt be much fun. If i HAD to make a choice, it'd be DBSK, because i'm more familiar with them.

Example 6
Insomnia
English: Craig David
Korean: Wheesung

We all know this song. "Imsomnia" is a damn fine song and Craig David is probably one of the best R&B singers i've heard.

Unlike the cases of SM Entertainment, where they buy the rights to songs and remake or cover them, Craig David personally requested Korean R&B singer, Wheesung, to sing a Korean version of "Insomnia". Wheesung has recieved quite abit of success in Korea but apparently, his full potential is yet to unleased.

He is now preparing for an American debut. His album is being produced by Rodney Jerkins, who has produced albums for Michael Jackson, Beyonce and more. Moreover, one song will be featuring R&B supertar, Ne-Yo himself, and the song was actually originally planned to be on Michael Jackson's new album.

Craig David:

Wheesung:

Which is better?
I find it hard to admit, that i think Wheesung did this song better than Craig David himself. At times, the Korean lyrics were probably too long and rushed. But Wheesung added in some amazing ad-libs. And the scream/howl at the end of the song just before the dance break, was what nailed it for me. Wheesung wins.

Moments like these is exactly why i

LOVE
FOOTBALL.
(and Man Utd)

Manchester United v Manchester City

"Wayne Rooney will take this free kick. This has to be the last moment. Rooney... That's Ireland...Tevez... Rooney up to Ferdinand, out by Lescott... Ryan Giggs... Great pass; MICHAEL OWEN!! TO WIN IT FOR MANCHESTER UNITED!!!...

Epik High is back!

Epik High is back!

30 new songs to ring in my ears again and again,
and so far, the songs on the new album, [e]
doesnt disappoint.

The 30 songs are split into 2 CDs,
15 tracks each.

the songs on CD1 [e]motion,
are slower and have a more sentimental feel to them.

the songs on CD2 [e]nergy,
are fast paced, and have a stronger and more dynamic beat.

'Wannabe' is the title track that they're
promoting rite now.
Epik High always loved to utilize a
simple, sweet and pleasant female voice
for the chorus of their song,
and Wannabe is the latest example.

With their hits 'One', 'Love Love Love'
'Umbrella', 'Fly', '1 Minute 1 Second'
all having featured a female singer,
i cant help but feel that this is one of
Epik High's winning formula.

Here's the MV for Wannabe,
released moments ago.

besides Epik High,
mapthesoul.com partners,
Planet Shiver and MYK also appear in this MV

and this here is the Korean movie
that they sort of parodied

No matter wad, Epik High's unique music
nvr fail to impress me.

I'll get this album when i've got the cash.
However, my VIP instincts tell me
i shud be buying upcoming Taeyang and 2NE1 albums first...

There this place called Hillock
or what we commonly refer to as Purmei,
where we always play soccer during the holidays,
3 times a week,
9am to 12pm,
without fail, and undisturbed.

You can trust dat we will be there.
We, referring to the guys of GESS intake 04.

I always anticipated that it wud be
slightly more difficult to plan such sessions
during this holiday break,
since a handful of us are preparing for A levels,
and have to attend school anyways.

Then i learned that Rahim and Wai Leong
would be going for internships as well.

By right, we still have just enough ppl to play,
but for some reason they locked the place up.

You have to book it 3 days in advance,
pay $20 per hour,
and also hand in a deposit of $50.

We play for as long as 3 hours and sometimes even 4.
So thats $80, divide by 10 ppl,
which is the amount of ppl we usually at least have,
thats 8 bucks to play for a day;
just a normal day, which used to be able to enjoy for free.

I dont even know where ur supposed to
go to book it.
The notice was very "detailed".
And even if i wanted to book, i dont have that much
money to pay for the cost and deposit up front.
So, sorry guys, i just dont have the motivation
to organize for our favorite past time anymore.

This development has been such a
big middle finger up on my face,
that i'm simply just demoralised.

In an attempt to end this post on a happier note,
so that i dont emo when i re-read it after publishing,
lets have some KPOP! ^^

These 3 videos appeared in my subscription box today.
They're pretty much random things,
but they're all wad makes me like following KPOP so much.

First up, KARA in a baseball match

notice the "butt-dance" that makes the crowd roar
at 0:34.
Its a dance that's become really popular,
coming from their song, Mister.

butt dance starts at 0:11
I admit, it does gain some of my attention.

Next up is the ever so popular, SNSD!
I think its a commercial.
It probably is.

Jessica's looking pretty awesome here.
Jessica was nowhere near being my favourite member
until recently, she's pretty much been the "it" girl.
And she has gained my attention as well.

Im very excited to introduce to you the last group,
because they're my 2nd favourite girl group,
behind 2NE1.
Just in case u dont know, I like SNSD and Kara and all,
(as in they're great eye candies and entertainers and all)
but music wise, they're nt dat appealing to me.
On the other hand, Brown Eyed Girls'
music in my opinion is one of the best among girl groups.

Here's BEG in a Public Transport Campaign ad.

They had to undergo lots of changes
from their previous style,
in order to transform to the sexy BEG that they are today.

Their "arrogant dance" in which they
cross their arms and sway their hips
is also very popular now.
I always end up being very happy
after watching this video.

My point is, not only do these Korean artists
appear in one medium of the entertainment industry,
they appear in variety shows,
commercials,
environmental campaigns,
sports broadcasts, and many more.

I just love the interactivity of the industry.

sending Chloe off the 2nd time

Went to Changi Airport to send
Chloe off to the States for the 2nd time.
Didnt really mind the long MRT ride
since i kinda like being at the airport.

Chloe had a lengthy stay here in SG
and im glad we all went out as a class (former)
together on a few occasions.

Quite a few ppl went overseas to study.
Sure, they have family or relatives
ready to receive and live with them on the other side,
but still, the idea of leaving ur home
and staying in a foreign land
for a long period of time scares me.

I lived in China for 6 weeks.
My experience there was pleasant but
all around me there were friends who supported me.
It just felt like bringing my Singapore
classroom over to China.

What Chloe, Boon Long, Sebas and others do, is different.
Apart from family, no1 else accompanies them,
and they have to start anew.
If there comes a day that i too have to
put myself out of my comfort zone
and adapt to a totally alien environment,
would i be able to succeed as they have?

I slept for the best part of the 2 HOUR
journey home.
But when i was awake, this was wad i was thinking of.

2PM

After Gene's request, i really felt like
posting about 2PM's former leader Park Jaebeom
but i figured i had nothing much to say anyways.
I just feel really sorry dat he has to go thru all the shit
when the future was looking real bright
for him and the boys.

JYP revealed that the fallen from grace idol
used to be a problematic kid and gave the staff
and company lots of problems in his early days.
Despite this, he slowly changed,
and his passion and energy on stage
earned him the title of leader.

I dont love 2PM as much as i love Big Bang
but i have to admit, watching 2PM on variety
and idol shows was far more entertaining.
They're the dorky-est idol group i've ever seen,
and Jaebeom was definitely one who stood out.
Likewise can surely be said when they perform on stage.

Okay, since i ended up posting quite an amount,
lets just call this my tribute to Park Jaebeom and 2PM.
2PM shud, by all means continue their activities in this
coming month, and not leave fans
even more disappointed.

As for Jay, i hope he finds some much needed
peace of mind back in USA, and go back to Korea
when the time is right, cuz i know he wants to.

f(x)

SM
debuted a new girl group a few days ago,
called f(x).
The "f" apparently stands for "flower"
and the "x" in the bracket represents
the female "xx" chromosomes.
Dats the name in biological terms.

For those more familiar with mathematical terms,
this group is said to be able to adapt to any challenge,
by changing the "x factor" in the bracket.
U've guessed it; functions.

The names they come up with these days..

2NE1 = 21st Century New Evolution
(referring to how they will be pioneers in the present day music scene)

FT Island = Five Treasure Island
(how all 5 members are a treasure)

SS501 = Super Star 501
(5 = hw many members, 1 = unity, therefore they are united as one)

Back to f(x),
they are the latest group of what seems to be Korea's
largest entertainment management company.
SM boasts a line up formed by the likes of
DBSK, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee and more.

So naturally, the expectations are high.
But since the company is so high profile,
they've alr got a strong fanbase from day 1 itself.
It helps that member Krystal is actually
SNSD's Jessica's very own sister.

I guess its fair to say they're meeting expectations for now.

Since CSJH has been the "female DBSK",
SNSD has been the "female Super Junior",
I was thinking that f(x) should be the female version
of SHINee. (thn again maybe SHINee are "female" enuff)
After watching their MV, i think the impression they give me
totally fits the impression i had of SHINee.

Here's some SHINee for you.

Similar? No? Maybe its just me thn.
But the fun thing is, f(x)'s leader, Victoria (who is a Chinese btw),
is actually the female actress featured
in the above SHINee music video.

Here's their live performance from today.

U may have noticed the tomboy in the group.
Nt REALLY sth new, but she's definitely the one who went furthest.
Apart from that, Amber is also a Chinese.

Other 2 members are Sulli and Luna.
I like Luna.

So that's about it.
I'll probably intro 4Minute next.

Frankly speaking, i feel as though
i couldnt give a damn about this blog anymore.
The difference between last time and now is that
in the past i had alot of things going on
and i wanted to let every1 else know wad was up.

Right now, its not as if nothing's happening.
I just dont feel like sharing anymore.
A slight change in personality wont kill rite?

I cant stand noise, crowded places, and i find
many more things in life being a burden.
How did this happen in the first place?

Well, rather thn leave this place empty,
im gonna occasionally update with some K-Pop music.
I know theres a growing number of Kpop listeners
out there, so maybe i can help
introduce new songs and artists?
It will all be 2NE1-and-Big Bang-biased though.

Guess i'll introduce 2 girl groups on the next post...

Im able to blog properly!
And im nt gonna waste this chance.
Cuz i dont know if it will screw up on me
once again.
Pity that i dun really have much to say right now.

But,
Fasting month starts tmr.
I will resist the temptation of food
and other restrictions
in the hope of becoming a more disciplined,
and overall, better person.

It will be difficult, since ive set for myself
lots of goals and targets in this coming
holidays.
And first, im gonna have to get thru
the exams.
Really nt looking forward to it.

Last night i had this dream
that probably made the most sense ever.
Im so glad it wasnt one of those cliffhanger types.
I really dreamed to the end this time,
and felt really weird when i woke up.

But why is it you who appear in my dreams?

Kwon Ji Yong

Not as early as i had wanted to be,
but Happy Birthday to
Mr Kwon Ji Yong

aka Kwon Leadahhh

aka JingYo

aka Bong

aka GD

aka G-DRAGON

Apart from his 21st birthday, today is also the day

he starts his solo career, while simultaneously leading

my fav group, as you all know, Big Bang.

Blogger still aint properly workin for me,

so im gonna skip the music video and pictures part,

and just wish Big Bang all the best,

especially Daesung who got caught up in a

car accident a few days ago.

YOU'RE MY HEART HEART HEART

National Day 2009

Wow.. blogger still isnt fixed yet.
Am I the only one still facing this problem?
Anyway, my facebook layout is screwed up too.

Actually, i came here to say Happy Birthday Singapore!
At some point in the afternoon today, i recalled this
incident whereby Mr AJ asked me this question,
out of the blue, during Social Studies class.
Or was it during History? Oh wait, i took Geography -.-

Yea, he asked me, "How long do you want Singapore to exist?"
And i proudly exclaimed, "For as long as i live!!!"

He reprimanded, "NO NO. YOU WANT SINGAPORE TO EXIST FOREVER!!"

Such a patriot.
I'm no patriot, but i do have a sense of belonging.
At times my love for Singapore wavers, especially in recent times,
but all is good, and Singapore is the best!

NDP as always, is quite the spectacle.
Concept was a little bit different this year; kinda liked it.
My fav was still the skit in Chapter 1,
with Mark Lee and Suhaimi Yusuf, of Police and Thief fame.

Sang Nila Utama: What is that island over there?
Mark Lee: You ask me i ask who?

Suhaimi: I think you need to throw away your crown to stop this storm..
Sang Nila Utama: But i cannot throw my crown! Without it i cannot be king!!
Suhaimi: Alamak..relax ah brudderr...

Great stuff..

SG idol was entertaining as well.
Hopefully the contestants will be good enuff to cause an idol frenzy
and draw me temporarily away from K Pop.

Meanwhile, in K Pop,
2ne1 has since grabbed sooo many awards that i've lost count.
But just now they just won Inkigayo 3 weeks in a row.
They've really been overachieving.
They handled all that expectations of being the "female Big Bang" so well,
they deserve to break away from that title already and form their own image.
Amazing stuff..

Anyways, they performed a short portion of Big Bang's Last Farewell

they totally nailed it.
But they arent actually the first girl group to cover the song because...

Wonder Girls did it before them! (starts at 0:57)

Of course, Big Bang does it best.

I was entering my toilet this afternoon

when a huge lizard dropped from the sky ceiling.
As if that wasn't enuff,
i sprayed it with water for a good 5 seconds.
The reaction was rather hysterical.

I recall a few days ago i saw another lizard.
This one moves so fast,
it seemed like it teleported from point A to B.
Startled me.
That was hysterical too.

I also recall the other day when i was
at Queensway with Chi Jie and Josh.
A girl was playing with a scooter of some sorts,
looked at us looking at her, thn fell down.
Hysterical.

Thn at that moment it reminded me of another occasion,
at Yong Li's house's swimming pool.
A boy riding his bike along the perimeters
of the pool, looked at us looking at him,
and fell into the pool, along with his bike.
What can i say?
Hysterical.

I saw Wuhan on TV during Channel U's telecast of the total solar eclipse in parts of China.

I saw the Yellow Crane Tower, Yangtze River and that bridge which i forgot goes by what name. Still, they're all things i feel dat i can relate to since the place was once, and even though for a very limited period of time, a place that i called home.

Technically it was around 8 in the morning. But when the eclipse happened, the day turned to night. Then i realised it was no longer the eclipse that i really wanted to see. Wuhan looked beautiful. Oh so beautiful.

It wud have been great if i was there to experience it. Then again, eclipse or not, it'd be great to be there anytime.

Good news is, gml is back!!

(sth's wrong with my blogger so make do with the tiny font for the moment)

14 July

I gotta blog since today is 14 July.
Not significant to most,
but it's a special day for some,
a certain significant 23.
So to all of us, cheers,
and happy 3rd anniversary!!

Wei Xiong showed me this video at ourspace today.
We were having laughing fits watching it.

I'm sure u'll be able to appreciate
the almighty-ly entertaining commentary
even if ur not a soccer fan.

And i'm damn addicted to Chae Yeon's "Shake" song.
Listened to it all the way on my way to school.
Unfortunately, my earpiece died on me
first thing when i reached school.
Why isit so damn hard to maintain
a good old pair of earpiece?

Ended the day by taking a cab home.
It was a smooth ride which costed only
$8.80 instead of the usual
$9.00 ++.
Plus the driver was a very nice person.
Courtesy made my day;
even though it was already nearing the end of it.

I'm really trying to get my sleeping habits right
and go to bed as early as 10 or as late as 11.
But with the influx of so many new songs,
and so many variety show episodes left unwatched,
it's just too difficult.

Oh well..

2ne1 - i dont care

Ppl have been telling me i look pale
for the whole of this week.
How does a person look pale?
I've never been able to spot a pale person.

Oh well, just when i was getting better from
the minor sickness i had over last weekend,
i seem to be having a headache right now.
Don't know why im feeling unwell.

----------------------------------------------------------

In other news,

I was supposed to blog about this ytday
but for some reason i didnt.
Its okay cuz i'll do it now.

Kay so 2NE1 released their new single
"I Dont Care"
a few days ago.

But only ytday, they released the MV for it.
As a fan, i really really love it.
I like how they get to show a more feminine
side for this new song,
as compared to all the energized performances
for FIRE.

And only just now,
they performed it on Music Bank
which i streamed live in sch
with Shahril and Ri Sheng

Exceeds my expectations.
And i'm just hoping they get better and better
like how their promotions for FIRE went.

I'm totally loving CL with her hair let down.
Actually, i love all of them.

They also just released a mini album,
and are expecting to release their
first full length album in a matter
of months.

Their biggest target, to hold a concert
by the end of this year.

I think they are talented and popular enough to do so.
2NE1 hwaiting!!

Saturday, July 04, 2009

In recent days ive been procrastinating
on blogging until i forget what to blog,
and then ignore the matter completely.

Im definitely nt gonna forget to blog today
since i wanna share these 2 videos,
and yes, both related to K Pop.

Okay.
Have by any chance anybody here watched
a video of a group of prison inmates
MASS dancing to certain popular songs?
Im pretty sure most have seen the rather old video
of them dancing to Michael Jackson's
Thriller.

Now they're back,
and they're dancing to Super Junior's Sorry Sorry.

The dance itself isnt that wonderful,
but i just enjoy the novelty of it all.
I wonder how they're able to coordinate
such an event...

Now the 2nd video is a short acoustic performance
by a soloist called IU.

She's still growing in popularity,
but after seeing her perform in this one,
i just felt inspired to blog,
and share with everyone the awesomeness, that is, IU.

She sings 3 chart toppers,
SNSD's Gee,
Big Bang's Lies,
and
Super Junior's Sorry Sorry.

Its not the first time people have done
covers on these songs,
but i'm of the opinion that IU does them best.

She gives me the same feeling as Younha
so im gonna start fanboying for her
when she turns legal soon.

She posted videos of her doing these covers
with a guy, who apparently
is 2ne1's Sandara Park's brother.
Small world.

It's actually kind of sad that talented singers
like IU dont get much of the spotlight
since they're all overshadowed
by girl and boy bands.

Of course, i'm not saying that girl/boy bands
cant sing...

...except for So Hee of Wonder Girls?

Michael Jackson

Today's post is dedicated to K Pop.

Not
Korean Pop,
but the
King of Pop, that is,
Michael Jackson.

We all know the story,
so i'm just gonna share with u
my fav MJ perf of
Billie Jean.
I remember watching it on TV,
back when TV was entertaining enough.

He was just the kind of person who gets u
screaming
and
jizzing in ur pants even b4 he sings.
When he performs,
the whole world
revolves around him.

No matter hw many times i watch it,
5:00 onwards is just crazy.

I have no
thriller way of ending this entry,
so i'm just gonna
beat it,
cuz i'm
bad, but i told billie jean
that i'm gonna
heal the world
since it doesnt matter if ur
black or white.

RIP

----------------------------------

ANYWAYS

2ne1 performed on Music Bank today.
They covered
Rihanna's Umbrella,
and gave fans the usual dose of
FIRE.

They also paid tribute to
Michael Jackson
at the beginning of FIRE.

Umbrella

FIRE

how could i ever not post sth about K Pop nowadays...

NP Futsal Camp

So Futsal Camp is over.

As with any other reflection,
i look back at the objective and purpose of it all.

Though some ppl's impression of the camp
would have been one with much physical
training and torment,
in order to get fitter and improve our skills,
this was never wad the camp
was going to be.

It was always going to be a bonding camp.
Forging bonds, fostering team spirit,
you name it.

So at the end of it all,
i think this objective was more or less
achieved.
The post-camp hype is pretty good.
Good thing is that we'll still be seeing one another
twice a week.

My only regret is having not worked hard enough
for the planning of this camp.
If only we could have run it more smoothly...
I have a huge amount of respect for
the new President and Vice President,
for all their hard work and sacrifice.

Theres only one direction where
the club is going to head towards now...

oh yea, i wish i could have said all these with my loud hailer...

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Today's weather was hands down the best
i've felt in days.

That is all.

In other news, 2ne1 won Mutizen
at Inkigayo a few days ago.

Park Bom looks even prettier here.
She was tearing though.
It must have been hard work preparing for debut.
And with the awards coming in,
and topping various charts,
i'd say it's been a successful debut already into
the competitive world of K-Pop.

But now they have a new challenge.
They go by the name of 4 Minute.

And i've got their debut song
on constant playback already.

It will be hard for them to steal my heart from 2ne1 though,
since 2ne1's from YG Entertainment,
and that's where my favourites Big Bang come from.

They're expecting these 2's rivalry
to be like that of
Wonder Girls and Girls Generation,
last year.

Girls Generation are preparing for a comeback,
while Wonder Girls are about to
tour America with the Jonas Brothers.

That itself, is a completely different story.

Mom and dad fell sick few days ago.
They were down with very high fever,
but they're feeling much better now.

Instead of worrying about their health,
i was more worried dat i would get infected
and wont be able to take the Common Tests.
What kind of a person am I?

Well anyway, not feeling confident about tmr's paper at all.
It's always like this.
It never changes.
At least EMD was better.

I'll be looking forward to the term break.
Especially this time round, cuz it feels like
it's been forever since i've had a holiday.
The whole of my last one
was spent studying in China remember?
Well, that itself, can be called a vacation,
but i still needed to attend lessons.

Sadly, there will be lots of other stuff to do
for this term break, like futsal camp,
and other things that i take part in
but do not tell anybody else about.
Seriously though, I hope futsal camp
will be enjoyable.

Let's just get over with tmr's paper
and look forward to
SAATTUUURDAYYYY!!!!
EC baby!!

in other news,
2ne1's third live performance ^^

cant wait for their mini-album

Common tests are at both the
front and back of my mind.
Yet, i dun think ive been all that
productive these few days.

This kind of feeling again...
Surely this time i've failed myself too many times?
Isit even worth reflecting like this?

Saturday could give me a huge boost.
It could also kill me.

Its gonna be tough.
Its gonna suck big time, running around.
Fate might even throw in a few cramps.
In truth, just one is enough to take me out.

Still, the ball is round.
And despite all the shortcomings, hurdles,
challenges, difficulties,
Nothing is for sure isnt it?

So why worry?

Now im just wondering if i'd made any sense at all.

U2

Since my IS module is
History of Rock & Roll,
every Monday i get introduced
to many many old bands/artists that have helped
lay down the foundations of rock,
to form what it is today.

Every Monday is a journey
that begins from the 50's
and is about to end next week,
on the 90's.

There are countless nice songs that i got to know about
through this module,
and many more great artists.

This week in particular,
there was U2, and for the first time,
i heard this song.

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"

superb song in every way, and i really love it.
give it a try.

Once again, LDC (and living in GESSCove)
was real fun.

Living there is so comfortable and convenient,
we didnt really involve ourselves in the LDC
activities.
All we did was slack in GESSCove.

In Ubin, well, once again,
we walked maybe a quarter of it?
Just walking and obeserving.

Ubin does have beauty.
It's something i didnt really notice
the last time when we rode bikes there.
So maybe u have to walk and take ur time
to fully enjoy Ubin.

I really wish i was less careless though..

On an unrelated note, Sebas is back
so lets meet up soon aight?

Kind of exciting that tmr's LDC,
and Intake 04 will once again reunite!

That's all that i have to say really.

But its not by any means the only thing on my mind.
In fact, lets talk about EVERYTHING
that's going on nowadays!

next time...

Apart from watching Wolverine with
Chi Jie, Ho Wai and Luqman,
ytday evening was spent
watching the Man Utd vs Arsenal match
at Wai Leong's house, with the
above mentioned, (excluding Luqman)
plus Muneer, Ling Zhen and Rahim.

It was a really boring goalless draw.
But it was still worth the time,
since United lifted the EPL trophy once again,
for the 3rd time in a row,
and 18th time in history.

Now all dats left is the

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

against Barcelona.
Go United!!

Regarding Wolverine,
its action packed, but probably lacks a good plot.
Felt very plain to me.
One should also question the use of Gambit in the film.
After not appearing in all 3 X Men movies,
a person like me would expect him
to be much more impt in this one.
He was still kinda cool though.

Anyway, this movie not only introduced new characters,
but also introduced many plot holes,
when combined with the original trilogy.
Oh well.
I guess i'll just look forward to watching Star Trek
with Sebas once he comes back from US.

Btw, the film had after credits,
which we didnt stay for.

On a random note,
I feel happier this weekend thn previous ones.
Why is dat so?

Today went like this:

Waited for 25 mins until bus 75 arrived.
And when it arrived, it came along with 2 others.

Then when I reached class, there was nobody.
Why? Cuz class cancelled due to Graduation Ceremony
But why wasnt there any email or announcement?
Why Salleh? Why?!?!

At the same time, i wasnt dat surprised.
2 weeks ago he told us,
"Next Monday no school, Vesak Day"
In his dreams la.

Disappointed by this nature of his, i felt like going home,
but thn decided to stay and slack at the library.
By then, i had already realised that apart from
not bringing my mouse,
i also did not bring my laptop charger,
so there was no use bringing my laptop at all.
And besides that, i wouldnt be able to use it for 3 hours.

3 hours was how long i spent,
watching MTV at library.
The commercials are really very repetitive.
It got very irritating.
Luckily the music was nice.

The day got better from here onwards.

I was just upset dat i had to wake up early
for no reason.

I also could have watched the Wigan vs United match
if i had known i could wake up late.

Other thn all that has been mentioned,
today was a really good day..
