EXCEL TO BEST UNIT!

NCC Reflection

Its been like 2 and a half years.
of what?
I wudnt say suffering. People before us have suffered more.
I'd say sweat and pain, overshadowed by fun, joy and laughter.
Joining NCC was definitely the right choice for me.
What is there to regret?
The push ups done?
Push ups are a good exercise.
The tekan sessions?
Those were great bonding activities.
Without them, camps wudnt have been memorable.
The boring trainings?
Wrong. They're not boring.

Soccer after training.
Illegal gatherings outside school, eating MAMEE snacks,
Joining forces to suan Mr Beh,
Joking with NCOs,
Enjoying the sun with footdrill,

Theres more than meets the eye.

One by one, we faced the many challenges.

We survived through series of Annual Camps,
Starred in Footdrill Competition,
but of course cocked up in ROD.

Im telling you.
What we're doing now is picking ourselves up.
We believe tomorrow will be a better day.
Whats the next project?
Sec 1 Orientation?
Bring it on!

And as i type. I realize that i am just one step away from being an NCO. By right, i already am.
Just have to go through Leadership Course Phase 2.
Appointments are already out and pinned on the board.
They were more or less expected results.

Passing of ROD

Anybody who watched our ROD
even an idiot
would know dat it sucked
And because of dat i feel cheated of months of practices,
moneys of money,
nights of sleepless..
..nights.

It wasnt dat bad actually
Things went according to schedule
And everything actually looked good
but the performance
except for Part B performance
was below mediocre.

Part C's performances was hugely disappointing compared to last year's.
Part A, being first timers, cocked up big time.
Part B was the very most impressive.

Other than performances,
everything else was really okay.
REALLY.

The hall looked stunning,
lightings were well controlled

ITS JUST TOO BAD
its inevitable to judge ROD by the performances
and they sucked!
We had problems getting the wireless mics.
And to make things worst, one of the Part As, dropped the mic in his performance,
which was the first
It broke, leaving us with 2 wireless mics
which we just dumped on some random box backstage.

The performances couldnt be heard
and the songs played werent too clear too
WHY?
because we were playing the sound from a laptop and just amplifying it with a mic.
WHY?
The sound system was down.
WHY?
Cos we suck? And our ROD just isnt meant to be?

Maybe not.

At least im proud of my NCC Video which played on the big screen for 5 mins.
For the first and last time in the whole function,
people had 5 mins of laughter and amusement.
It was the onli highlight that received a decent applause.

Victor was downright retarted.
Being an MC [ (emcee) wadever it is]
He just had to go for OBS the week before
and during ROD itself, he left halfway for guitar class.
leaving him with 2 hours to come up with speeches.
Check this out

*backstage*

Aziz: U have finale speech?
Victor: U wan me to do a finale speech?
Aziz: Duh.!! *omg*
Victor: Okay... *goes on stage*

Victor: That marks the end of our ROD performance. Now u may procede to the canteen to MAKAN! EH NO! This year we're doing it at the hall!

lol

Fortunately, food was nice.
Some kind of seafood fried rice.
Lemon chicken
Aziz = Chicken for life
So Aziz loved the food.
Fruit punch.
Good good.

So after that we did saikang, cleaning up the whole hall.
Took a lesser than expected time to complete.
Dismissed at 9pm, reflecting,

DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST ROD

ROD Update

Warning:This is just another post on NCC ROD
Read onli if interested!!

kay. last few days of preparations.
Completed one whole goddamned slideshow video which drove me mad.
I started work at 2.
Completed the first quarter at 3. (im slow)
When suddenly Windows Movie Maker fucking crashed.
I was ROFCing.

Rolling on floor crying.
Made a forced restart and realised that they auto saved the work for me.
But dat wasnt all.
I completed the whole thing at 6

ROD

And so its Monday
This is the week most remembered by cadets,
for rushing through all their ROD performance preparations.
So wad have the Part B done?

Their preparations, i wud say, 85% done.
Their sketch is complete.
You can expect alot from their sketch.
Of course most fo you readers wont be watching but
im just saying its gonna be funny
IF
they get all the sound effects rite.
and if it doesnt turn out too messy.
They just need the sound effects
and the costumes.
For the creative performance, im using this week
to brush up on it.

Part A is doing quite well too.
Their sketch is done.
Not sure whether its funny but i hope so
Their creative performance,
i dont really know.
Rahim wont be around so it will all depend on Ali and Guo Sheng

*insert push up position here*

Part C.
I think everyone is looking forward to our performance
since last year's Ali Baba success.
Ali wont be starring in our current project.
Instead, it will be Luqman, Hardeep and I.
Sadly, i think we are gonna let our audience down.
For sure, this sketch isnt as funny as the last.
We just couldnt match last year's performance.
It CAN be funny. But the problem is we are not really sticking to outr scripts.
We may be good comedians. But we will always forget the good jokes we came up with.
But i'll try my best to work on dat this week too.

Chi Jie, Setiawan, Iskandar, Luqman and I went to No.1 Costume Costume just now.
Had a hell of a time putting on masks and wigs.
Most funny wud be Iskandar wearing a Saddam Hussein mask.
And Chi Jie was Michael Jackson.
PICTURES TO BE POSTED LATER
We found out the prices and we will go back on friday to buy/rent them.

PRAY FOR MONEY

Sunday, August 20, 2006

First of all. I wasnt in so much of a good mood.
Countless mosquito bites caused a serious lack of sleep last night.
I went to bed at 11. Rolled in bed (in reality a mattress) until 1.30 before truly falling asleep. On top of it all, i woke up at 9am knowing that there was a wedding to attend. Those that are really not of ur problem but u are forced to go to because you are SOMEHOW related.

It was going to be a long MRT ride. Even before reaching Tiong Bahru Station, i quarelled with my parents and refused to talk to them for the rest of the journey, always sitting or standing or walking at a distance. In a sense, showing attitude. It was kind of dumb, considering the reason i did it for.

But God wanted to show me something. A few stations before reaching Jurong East Station, a decent looking boy entered the door in front of me. He looked cautious and seemed to look at someone/thing else before he entered. Wadever it was, he went on to lean against the wall opposite of me.

5 minutes later, a middle aged man, casually dressed, along with a little girl, smaller than the boy, walked past me and approached the boy. It didnt take me too long to realize the similarity between the boy and I. We were both avoiding our parents. This boy's story though, would have an even tragic ending.

In the middle of the train (actually at the last section) he got scolded by his father. His sister obediently looking at him. Dozens of ppl watched. The degree of anger from his dad, i would rate 4/5. He wasnt so loud. It was loud enough for at least 2 sections of the train to hear. I think he did the right thing. He didnt say anything that would insult his son, onli knocking some sense in him. Telling him the reality and consequences of wad he was doing or wad he was going to do. The son and the daughter onli stared out of the window. Without a doubt, they were deep in reflection.

So wad really happened was that probably, he had a conflict with his father and decided to do things himself. Sounded too familiar to me. The scolding went on for a few mintues until the father himself, left his children alone to think, especially the son. They then alighted at Jurong East.

There were mixed reactions. An Ah Pek in front of me didnt wanna be part of the scene and moved away. A couple was probably whispering to each other on their future as parents. Some aunties were giggling here and there. As for me, i was looking cool, listening to my MP3 player. Secretly, I had paused the music to listen to the drama.

I realized that wad happened just now, would have happened to me if my father had been less patient. Fortunately enough, he understands that i too need some personal space and a time to be alone and think. God is merciful enough to let me learn my lesson in an embarrassing moment dat did not focus on me.

DEEP IN REFLECTION

1 v 1 DotA

Wahahahah
Won Danny for the second time!!
1 v 1 DotA
6.35b
-arem
Danny = Spiritbreaker
Aziz = Naga Siren

Final Kills
Danny = 2
Aziz = 5
Final Deaths
Danny = 3
Aziz = 2

So the match started. Randomed, got Naga Siren. Nvr really used Naga Siren b4. Only tried her with AI before. So i wasnt dat confident going up against a Spiritbreaker which has 3000 gold to start the game with. I bought BoS, RoR and Yasha. He bought BoS, Sange and a few Flasks.

Firstblood
Both of us had yellow health.
He wanted to finish me.
So he chased me
He ran past one of my towers.
And when he reached the second one,
i smartly netted him
resulting in me dying with a final Greater Bash
worst of all he escaped death.

So confidence was at extreme lows.
It became worse when he killed me another time.
I figured that if i had to win, i wud have to take extreme measures and play smart.

**INSERT MAPHACK HERE**

Now knowing where he is all the time, i confidently farmed.
I had it all under control until the next occasion when we drew our swords.
The usual combo for me, Mirror Image and Ensnare.
then WHACK ARHH!!!!
He really was gonna die when suddenly..

.. he blinked

WAD THE FUCK!! Blink Dagger?!? I hate dat item!
So cheap!

The Devil seemed to speak to me.
Which made me type:
"Danny, Dagger of Escape(blink) is not allowed in a 1 v 1 match"

Danny: Where got? Really meh?
Aziz: I dun mind la. but if u wan to win in honour..

5 mins later
Danny: I sold my dagger liao
Aziz: k.. *LOL*

that was the turning point
killed him 3 times.
and sent him home everytime we faced each other
fortunately for him he reached a HoT and a vitality booster which made him a freaking tank.
Aziz hates tanks.
But tanks werent gonna stop my super gay mirror images with 300 crits.

So i went on to destroy his mid lane creep producing buildings.
Went to get some items
killed him 2 more times.
and ended the game

Final Items
Boots of Travel, Eye of Skadi, Sange And Yasha (i know they dont stack) and Monkey King Bar.
and a Ring of Regeneration

So another win for Aziz.
Once again he proves his doubters wrong.
And its true wad they say

FA Community Shield

Woo
Any team dat beats Chelsea is a team that i like
Though the community shield match is seen as a worthless match,
it has shown the teams in EPL one thing,
that Chelsea is beatable.
Afterall, a somesort of second team Liverpool
defeated
A full Chelsea team only without regular, Claude Makelele and Joe Cole.

Lets zoom in on the new players of both teams
and how they performed in the recent matches.

Chelsea bought Andriy Shevchenko, probably the best striker in the world, from AC Milan. Michael Ballack, one of the most renowned midfielders in Europe.

Shevchenko did well. I can imagine him scoring that much goals
with the likes of Lampard, Ballack, Cole and Drogba supporting him.
He scored the equalising goal for Chelsea just before half time and was ever so dangerous in the first half. However in the second half, the Liverpool defence did very well to quiten him down. In fact, i hardly ever saw him from half time onwards.

Ballack had to be sub out early in the game due to an injury. Should be a minor one. But thats not the main problem. The thing is, i cant see him and Lampard playing well together. Its not that they have a feud or something, but their style of play is TOO similar. And usually its not good to play 2 players with similar styles of play. Of course, this was also the concern when Chelsea bought Essien. But Essien is settling as a defensive midfielder now and faces no such problems with Lampard.

As for Liverpool, the main new faces are Craig Bellamy, Jermain Pennant and Mark Gonzalez, all of which, good but risky budget buys. (meaning they are cheap, but their performance rating are still question marks)

Bellamy has settled down well. I can see him playing the hybrid forward. One dat scores goals AND creates opportunities for his teammates to score goals. He set up Peter Crouch's winning goal perfectly. Jermaine Pennant was quiet throughout the match. Cant comment much there. But Mark Gonzalez is wad i call a GOOD VALUE BUY. BEWARE: THIS GUY IS FAST
Sooner or later He will earn himself the nickname Mark "Speedy" Gonzalez. Damnit. I think he is faster than Jose Antonio Reyes.

Things dont seem to be going too well in Chelsea. They lose 2 matches in a row. One against MLS All stars and one against Liverpool. But of course, wad matters to Jose Mourinho is the Championship itself.

As for Liverpool, things are going great. They won both Maccabi Haifa and Chelsea 2 - 1. They've won Chelsea in the FA Cup, Champions League, Community Shield,

NOW FOR THE PREMIERSHIP!

tired
and sian

went out to Henderson CC play futsal at around 10am
played with the group of people who always seems to be there
play until nt bad
but in front of goal post cannot score

then 2.30 went skool meet Mr Beh for ROD meeting
all of the proposals excepted
except for one very important one
the Part C Song Performance

since we were playing Helena by My Chemical Romance,
we decided to portray a funeral to symbolize the leaving of Sec 4s
never did we want to insult them anyway
he straightawway rejected it for being insukting and inappropriate

we depended so much on this performance
it wud serve as a BANG to kickstart ROD night
but too bad
"too insulting"

its not as if we are putting a coffin or burning paper
and jumping around celebrating or having a parade
we were going to make a funeral setting
a very sad one
the leaving of someone very important

sad la. 2 more weeks and need to come up with something new
depressing man. now there are 3 options
do a video, come up with another idea for a performance
or just

GESS NDP

wow.
im actually impressed by this year's National Day Celebrations in GESS.

past 2 years, it has always been a dull day

but this year was lot of fun

for me, it was standing by, watching the Parade,

then receiving the Bronze Service Award,
then watching the following events
which were some modelling and a "Superband" kind of thing

of course there was a fair share of bad singing

but at least 3 performance were decent
i liked 3I's drummer and 3H's performance
but the sec 5 band was in many's eyes, the most versatile one
and eventually, they won.

Uniformed Groups were hyperactive man.

Blossom waves like every 10 minutes
Of course, we the NCC came up with some interesting moves.
the Uniformed Groups were actually the ones making all the noise,
creating the hype.
sang like no mother.
cheer like no father
jump like no...
..no uncle?

BUT

dat is what you see. what you didnt see, was the NCC at the 2.4 track, after the celebrations.

yes, while NPCC, BB, SJAB all were taking pics,
we were there, isolated, with our hands on the ground.

why?

cuz the marching was not up to standard

i take dat back
to be honest, it sucked, really
no offence to the contingent participants.
it also wasnt their fault
i noticed the band's drumbeat wasnt consistent.
trust me, it affects the marching tempo and speed
confusion = errors

the funny thing is

Mr. Beh kept on saying the mistake is due to:

2 platoons(sec 3 and 4)

being to proud of themselves
and thinking that one is better than the other

how do u relate that to marching?

i agree, us sec 3 have had much disputes with the sec4s
but do we hate them soo much that we wan to cock up our marching?
correction
do we hate ourselves so much to disgrace ourselves in the eyes of the skool?

id say no.

its not about the lack of unity between the 2 platoons
id say its luck. it was a naturally bad run of marching

TOTALLY BY NATURE

Geography and Israelis

Ok.

so other than geography.
i know what other things suck

ISRAEL
(please dont sue me)

jaarvis gave me this link of pictures
of Israelis torturing/killing/injuring Arabs
and Arabs suffering

wtf

i shall not reveal the link as it is STRICTLY NOT FOR THE YOUNG AND FAINT HEARTED. STRICTLY

they show pictures such as a hole through a baby's body,
totally roasted human bodies,
the process of a man dying in a crossfire with his child in chronological order,
totally disfigured faces and bodies
bodies squashed by tanks.
yes. body ran over by tanks

freaking tanks.

let me tell you

there,
women, girls, children,

ALL are not spared

meaning if we were living there there is a more than 40% chance of DYING

PLEASE THANK GOD

Im praying, in the coming of National Day,

that SIngapore will always remain the peaceful and politicaly stable nation like how it is today or even better. May no such tragedies, disasters, conflict or even unrest happen in this land that we are borned in.

yes,

Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope

not a bad performance indeed
though some of us keep on saying
watching Tokyo Drift would be better
nevertheless still enjoyed it

band's performance was great
especially Pirates of the Carribean parts
loved it so very much
i shouted "YEAH" too loud
ppl look back
so damn paiseh

EL presented the Pheonix Rises
i personally tot it had a weak storyline
could have been better
but acting was professional
with a good degree of humour

the journey home was even better
sang songs and shouted as if it was our father's road
by the time we reach bus stop all drunk liao
go inside bus
also sing song
crazy

thn Benny was getting worried
he had to go home by 12
as a priest said they were down on luck

GOOD LUCK

CUZ I DOUBT HE REACHED HOME BY 12

Targetman to Sweeper?

So was chatting on MSN
when Hamka told me a teacher Mr Khoo
who taught temporarily as a student teacher at GESS,
watched GESSChain and praised it.
Also said dat the guy plays well.

So i checked out his blog

http://shunchih.blogspot.com/

i found some real interesting things there
he used to play in a different position
but has changed to Sweeper recently
His description about his soccer matches
somewhat inspirational

the SWEEPER

- confident
- determined
- versatile
- vision

sounds so cool

so isit possible?

Abdul Aziz the great Forward/Striker/Targetman/Finisher

to play Sweeper?

HELL YEAH
