JI

Breaking news this morning (it still is)
was that JI leader, Mas Selamat
escaped from a detention centre at Whitley Rd.

And a few days ago,
i had just finished watching
The Shawshank Redemption
which was also kind of about a prison break.

nice movie btw, go watch it.
ranked and rated as one of the best movies
ever filmed.

Yea so back to the topic for today,
i think this is the guy who
planned for the bombing of Yishun MRT?
correct me if i'm wrong.
EDIT: well i'll be damned,
as stated by jyan, he planned
on crashing a plane on Changi Airport.
Oh, you bad bad boy..

its really shocking to hear such news
coming from a high security prison;
one of Singapore's.

They say he escaped while he was given a toilet break.

Well at any rate,
Special Operations Command,
Gurkhas,
Police Officers
and the army
are all looking for him.

I wish him good luck.
Eh..wait.
no.
BAD LUCK.
hope he gets caught soon.

FOR THE PRESERVATION OF OUR BLUE AND PURE WORLD!!

in the meantime,
any1 who spots a person who looks like this

is to report it ASAP to the authorities.

Eduardo

I felt like crying when i watched
Birmingham vs Arsenal
yesterday.

Just moments into the game,
Martin Taylor tackled down Arsenal's Eduardo.
At first glance, the tackle looked as if it was
one that normally deserved a yellow card
but i didnt realize the severity of it
until i saw the expression of
Cesc Fabregas when he checked on Eduardo.

Fabregas was immediately
signaling for the medic and a stretcher,
and every1 else on the Arsenal
looked devastated and also in shock.

Eduardo was treated for 8 minutes
on the field before being carried out
and immediately sent to the hospital.

At this point of time,
I was still unclear of what happened.
But it was soon revealed that he suffered a broken leg.
There were no replays of the incident,
as Sky Sports found it too graphic to be shown.
Trust me, i've seen slow mo replays
of players' legs being broken in the midst
of a tackle, and it is absolutely
not for the faint hearted.

My prayers today go to Eduardo
for a clean and quick recovery.

I also got emotional at the end of the game
when Birmingham equalized at the last minute,
and denied Arsenal a win.

Gallas was crying and the other Arsenal
players were emotional too.
I dun think it was because Man Utd are catching up.
I am sure they wanted to win that game
for their teammate Eduardo.
And they couldnt.

This is the ugly side of "the beautiful game"
I realize that players of this game
are just one reckless tackle away
from a career ending
or maybe even life threatening injury.

They say a broken bone can be fixed
but i still care to disagree.

i think im blogging too much
about football in this blog.

small update

k just a small update.
played soccer in the morning.
surprisingly a team of players came too
and so we played 5 v 5.

it was a nice game
made unpleasant by one of em
who keeps on kicking others' legs.

*kicks leg
"Sorry"
*kicks leg
"Sorry"
*kicks leg
"Sorry"

Dude, theres no point in that.
if you know ur dumb leg is kicking and hurting
the opponents,
thn tone down la.
control, damn it.
i found it so irritating that i raised
2 middle fingers up high.
but because i'm just a small fuck,
i did it behind him
and did nothing afterwards.
i make it a point not to turn violent and vulgar
in football nowadays
so i regret doing that.

conceded 5 stupid goals
that were clearly laughable.
other than that, everything was dandy.

after prayers went to GESS
to discuss some RP thing.
i just arrived and was walking towards cca block when..
*skip

WE CLINCHED GOLD!
ONCE AGAIN!
THANK GOD.

seriously.

only god knows how lousy we were as NCOs

Youth Olympic Games

Singapore doing what it does best.
Bringing itself to the world.

This time, by hosting the inaugural
Youth Olympic Games.

Ppl have been telling me
we're gonna have to pay more taxes for the preparation
of this whole international event.
Stadiums, and facilities and such.

Well that's not exactly true.
The truth is, most of the facilities are already done.
They just require touching up
to meet certain standards.

Even so, the Olympic Committee had already
stressed that the main goal of these games
is not competition,
but education based on Olympic Values.
The host city need not build new venues and such.

So yeah, Singapore wont be building
big big stadiums that will all turn out to be
white elephants after the games.

Aziz's notes: Singapore really went against the odds here,
bidding against cities such as Moscow, Athens and Turin
that have all hosted an Olympic Games before.
There were also worries about Singapore's Olympic Village plan,
which obviously lost out to Moscow's
cuz they already have one.
But in the end, Singapore's vision of the games,
matched the IOC's idea of how it should be.
By putting up the idea of sports intertwined
with educational and cultural programmes,
with an emphasis on "compactness"
Singapore is really going to host
the Youth Olympic Games now.

Another note: The Sports Hub is slated to be
completed in 2011 and is NOT part of the
YOG plan.

Here's to an exciting 2010
(3rd year poly)

Man Utd 4 Arsenal 0
great feeling to wake up with.

Wayne Rooney opened up the scoreline
with his header past Jens Lehmann

Its been almost a year since Darren Fletcher scored.
Header, and celebrates with style.

Nani's celebration was even more stylish.
Unfortunately i cant get a good shot of
his somersault or shud i say butterfly
as it is called in pakour.
His goal was the only one not a header.

Darren Fletcher once again scores with a header,
and decides not to slide anymore
as his pants was already dirty

Having players rush to the referee and arguing,
trying to prompt his decision, like this,
is a common sight in football.
The series of shots below, reveal what happened.

Eboue lived his Kung Fu dreams for a short moment,
before getting sent off the pitch with a red card.

random: i find this pose funny.

Poor Patrice Evra lies injured,
and Rio Ferdinand is furious (background, right).

Nani's showboating with his skills
was not appreciated by Arsenal.
Indeed it was unnecessary,
since Arsenal are honorable opponents.
Save it for Chelsea.

The whistle blows, and Man Utd beat Arsenal
4 - 0
at home ground.
He doesn't show it here,
but i know Fergie's a very happy man rite now.

Aziz's notes: I will be away from today til Tuesday.
Reason being, i will be attending a chalet.
There will be no updates for the next 2 days
and do not expect an entry on the chalet
because i wont do so.

Greetings, and good day.

Jumper

Jumper's a nice movie in my opinion.
It was certainly very entertaining,
with its fast paced action
and mysterious background.

Many things were left unsaid.
Like how the teleportation(jumping) works,
the Paladin organization
and,
well,
dats about it.

But it seems dat Jumpers can teleport (jump)
to a place that they can see or visualize from a picture,
and once they have teleported there,
the spot becomes a Jump Spot
and the jumper can return to any of his Jump Spots,
anytime, with relative ease.

When they Jump,
they leave behind a trace which is known as
a Jump Scar.
When a Jumper leaves behind his scar,
another Jumper can jump to the exact same location
the previous jumper went,
by jumping through that scar.
So basically when Jumpers jump,
they initiate in themselves,
a portal or wormhole to their destination.
This wormhole is left behind for several minutes,
though normal humans cannot see
nor utilize it without the aid
of technology as used by the Paladins.

The storyline is kept simple.
A boy manifests the power to Jump,
and uses it to his own benefit
by going anywhere
and doing anything he wants,
living a life without consequences.
He is later confronted by Paladins
who are revealed to have been hunting down
Jumpers whom they see as abominations.

"You think you can go on like this forever?
Living like this without any consequences?
THERE ARE ALWAYS CONSEQUENCES.."
- Roland Cox played by Samuel L Jackson
(fav quote from the movie)

"THAT'S IT! I've had it with these
mother fucking snakes,
in this mother fucking plane!!"
- Samuel L Jackson in Snakes in a Plane
(random)

"Only god can have the power to appear anywhere"
- the Paladins' philosophy.

And thus war the war between Jumpers and Paladins.

i wish to no further reveal the movie plot.

The intense scenes
when the battles are fought
in between continents made
what Nightcrawler did in X Men 2
seem like child's play..

Ah Meng

Ah Meng
18 June 1960 - 08 February 2008

What a long life.
For an animal dat is.
And in the lengthy and iconic life Ah Meng
has lived, she has met and interacted with the likes of
Prince Philip of Britain, and King Michael Jackson of Pop

But most prominently, she took a photo
with ex Gan Eng Seng student,
Abdul Aziz bin Azhar,
when the latter was 6 years old.

Kay i dun deserve to be saying this.

Incidentally my mother and I were arguing
on whether Ah Meng was still alive or not.
2 or 3 days ago.
I tot she was dead ><
I cud have sworn i saw it in the news,
some time ago.
Im sorry Ah Meng ;_;

Other than that, been staying home for CNY.
Cant wait for Sunday.

Finals of the African Nations Cup:

Egypt vs Cameroon.

I actually tot Egypt was the dark horses.
Turns out, they're the
reigning champions.
Mistaken again.
Im going for an Egyptian win.
But Cameroon should be giving a tough fight.
Though i didnt watch ANY matches at all,
i was supporting
Ivory Coast.

English Premier League Derby Showdown

Manchester United
vs
Manchester City

I wudnt say bad blood,
but theres alot of
rivalry between these 2 teams,
obviously because they are based
in the same city,
Manchester.
Matches like these are called derby matches,
and are highly anticipated
as both teams will be exceptional at wanting to win the game.

On top of dat,
Man Utd players will be wearing
an old fashioned jersey,
in honor and remembrance
of the
Man Utd players, fans and personnel
who died in the
Munich Air Disaster 50 years ago.
With such spirit in the air, this match
will definitely be one to watch.

and btw, to every1,
Happy Chinese New Year!

^^

I hope this post inspires all of you to update more.

The point of all this.

Man Utd vs Tottenham

I used to blame Chelsea for being
a late game winning team,
or maybe even a late 1 - 0 game winning team
due to how they always score in the last few mins,
in most occasions to win the game,
or sometimes draw.

But today im gonna shut up because
Carlos Tevez just scored in the 93rd minute
to help Man Utd draw against Tottenham.

Somehow, i feel sorry for the Spurs,
who dominated for the most part of the game.
Man Utd only really started to threaten
in the final 20 mins or so,
but with only Anderson coming close.

But Spurs' goal was questionable in the first place,
cuz Jermaine Jenas used his hand to push the ball
to his teammate;
this series of events, eventually leading to the goal.

Putting that aside,
Man Utd was really mediocre today.
C.Ronaldo didnt do much.
Neither did Rooney nor Giggs.
The only impact i felt was from Nani and Anderson,
and eventually Tevez who scored from a corner kick.

With virtually the last kick of the game,
Tevez single handedly
denied Spurs the win, and the 3 points.
Sad isnt it?

Man Utd fans got other things to worry about.
Arsenal are now 2 points on top,
and by watching them play in recent games,
you can tell that they arent gonna lose much
for the remainder of the season.

Man Utd really got to improve their game.
C.Ron's losing consistency,
Rooney hasn't done much since injury,
Giggs has been real quiet,
and while Tevez has been bagging in the goals,
he's not the type of player who can be at his best,
without good support from teammates.

I sure hope Sir Alex Ferguson has something up his sleeve.
