Im rather late, but here goes,
Happy Lunar New Year!
(to anyone who wants to accept this wish)

4 days of holidays.
4 days of supposed studying and revision.
4 days totally wasted.

Well at least i played soccer, did some shopping,
and helped plan this year's Annual Camp further.

Can see that certain people are putting
in lots of effort in planning a hell of a camp.
I'll do wadever i can to help.
But its just so sad that i wont be able to attend it.

Annual Camp was always fun.
Cadet, NCO, old boy.
In all 3 perspectives i've found AC fun and beneficial.

As a cadet it was that overflowing sense of team spirit.
Always looking out for each other and reminding
one another of the right thing to do
so we dont get our hands on the ground.
(in which most cases we usually do)
It was also about never knowing wad was gonna happen next.
The excitement of it all..

As an NCO it was really very stressful and tiring.
But it was a bigger learning experience than anything in the world.
You learn more about ur cadets, your own platoon mates
and of course yourself.
At the end of the camp u feel the great sense of satisfaction.
It a great feeling;
everyone doing their jobs so that the camp
would run efficiently.

As an old boy it was the freedom.
You could do anything. (responsibly)
Of course you dont interfere with cadet-NCO matters.
You could be anywhere.
Interacting with the new faces,
helping to coordinate activities,
or maybe even help them cook lunch and dinner
for close to a 100 people.
How can that not be fun?

Men working together.
People helping people.
Esprit de Corps

Just too bad that im gonna have to sit out on the coming one.

In other news, i finally went about downloading
Death Cab for Cutie's Narrow Stairs
and The Academy Is...'s Fast Times at Barrington High.

Great albums, both of em

Man Utd tops the table!!
(purely for Ling Zhen's entertainment)

Konchesky scored a goal dat would have made me
scream if i were watching it live.
Defoe and Nugent scored great goals too.

Well wadever;
today scored 3 as Futsal training FINALLY resumes.
Been 3 weeks since i even touched a soccer ball.
Far too long.

So naturally after 3 weeks of slacking,
pulled both leg's hamstrings
and cant walk properly now.

Im pondering on whether i should take up a Diploma Plus.

If take it, i'd get
"Increased employability"
"Possible module exemptions in Uni"
"Broaden my knowledge"
As to wad extent all this is true, i do not know.

Cuz if it is not then id rather not take it.
So i have THAT much time to focus on my core modules.
Thn again, an elective will be just an extra 3 hours
every week. But all in one day,
so it WILL feel hectic.
Plus i needa continue doing it for 3 more semesters.

Then if i DO take it,
i still needa decide which cluster i wan to take up.

Math cluster
- for Uni
- its maths. ADVANCED maths

Electrical engineering cluster
- directly related to my course
-increase employability
- dun wanna do anymore of those calculations

Arts cluster
- something different so might be interesting
- heard it's simple
- no link to wad im learning

Business cluster
- already completing one elective from this (econs)
- business got some kind of unique appeal
- heard its hectic

Decisions decisions.
When it comes to decisions like these,
i'm so fickle-minded.

Anybody has an opinion, please aid me.

Man Utd 3 Chelsea 0

Today was a f***ing good day la.
At 2am Man Utd defeated Chelsea 3 - 0.
Thats why. Haha.
Its not just a win u know,
its THREE goals to NIL.
Im sorry if im rubbing salt to Chelsea fans' wounds
but i cant help but express my feelings.
(Hope Jaarvis doesnt read this)

I like how the commentator started the game.

"Take the initiative today, and you could take the title in May... A fixture that has always been ladened with significance. Manchester United vs Chelsea has sometimes been beguiling, occasionally its been dull, but in recent years, its never, never been just another game"

Very well said. And it can only be true.
In the old days it was always Man Utd vs Liverpool.
Thn when we entered the Premier League era in mid 90's,
we saw the rise of Arsene Wenger's Arsenal
and so it became Man Utd vs Arsenal.
But now, the biggest rivalry in English football can only be one,
Man Utd vs Chelsea.

Ronaldo had a goal disallowed which made me furious.
But just a minute after that,

Vidic scores the goal!!!

I really hope he maintains his centre back goal scoring form.

Didier Drogba saw the funny side of things
after his shot went horribly wide, even going out for a throw in.
He was such in bad shape, im nt even sure if it was him playing.

Cristiano Ronaldo (fresh from his Ferrari car crash),
does the Robot.
"Domo Arigato Mister Ro-bot-to"

I kid.
He's just waiting for the right time to slip a pass through to Evra.

See?
A smart overlapping run by Patrice Evra,
resulting in a cross into the box,

which results into a..?

GOAAALLLL!!!!!!

How do you tap the ball in when
the defender is in front of you getting to the ball first?

U kick it in between his legs.

Such is the desire of Wayne Rooney to score a goal.
Mostly luck la.

And in the dying minutes of the game,

Ronaldo prepares to take a free kick.

And the ball is in the Chelsea net once again.

This time it is Dimitar Berbatov who takes the initiative.

A wonderful game
for any Manchester United fan.

Notice the guy behind Sir Alex?
The one holding the blue beanie in his hands.
Probably a Chelsea fan who grabs his friend's
blue (obviously Chelsea) beanie
and pretendedly attempts to throw it away.
That pretty much sums up how Chelsea fans are feeling now.

But i know passionate fans will always stay by their teams' side.

2009

Happy New Year everyone!!
feels weird to be celebrating a new year
when the academic year is not done yet.

Well ytday was the first time i ever celebrated
new year outside of my home.

Started off with watching Ip Man.
I went into the cinema with the following opinions:
1) Ip Man is imbal
2) Japanese General noob
3) The movie is better than Huo Yuanjia
This is according to several blogs and reports.

I couldnt agree more on no.1
Like seriously, it was the most one sided movie
i have ever seen.
The ending fight was also the most one sided one
i have ever seen.
Like throughout the course of the whole movie,
what kind of injury did we see him get?

Well, first of all he got bruised knuckles;
but only because he whacked the shit out of
10 and more Japanese Soldiers.
(which is btw, my fav scene)

And at the ending fight, he did get hit twice (TWICE)
and had a bruise at his cheek or sth.

That's all, you know...

He was like a one man army or sth.
Even Rambo almost dies on his lone missions la..

I quote Mr Abraham Joseph:-
"Have u ever watched Rambo?
One person take on the whole army..
BULLSHIT!!.."

Well thn again, it IS a portrayal of a Grandmaster.
So all's well and end's well.
Come to think of it, Huo Yuanjia was also kind of one sided.
Its just that he got poisoned at the end and died.
Its kind of like in contrast to those Hollywood movies
in which the hero starts off as a nothing,
then trains and becomes a something.
So this might be the reason why im overreacting
to the imbalness ( > 9000) that is Eep Mun.

Well, for opinion no.2,
Cant really agree cuz the general actually is,
no matter how you see it,
a formidable fighter.
Its just so sad that his opponent was OVER 9000.

And opinion no.3,
I cant agree at all.
Given the tenfold size of the screen,
plus the surround sound,
Ip Man didnt fail to mesmerise,
but at the same time, wasn't as great a movie to me,
as Huo Yuanjia which i watched at home.
Maybe Huo Yuanjia was more realistic.
Its all about expectations you see..
I just like both movies because they pit style on style.
Chinese vs Japanese.
Like how often have we seen that?

Nothing like Bruce Lee speaking French..

Well, the portrayals are usually inaccurate.

Oh and about wad we did after that,
we watched fireworks
thn travelled to Changi Airport
and slacked there by playing card games.

Conclusion:-
Im so hyped about Ip Man and Wing Chun rite now
that i forgot this was supposed to be a New Year post.

Forgive me for being too much of a
martial arts movie enthusiast.
