Man Utd - Champions of Europe

MANCHESTER UNITED
ARE THE

CHAMPIONS

OF

EUROPE!!!

it was a great match
that both teams dragged all the way to penalties.
Thrilling to the very end.
Honestly i tot it was all over when Ronaldo missed
his penalty.

I was on my knees thereafter.

I was never a fan of those who stop or stall
before they take their penalty.
I think the best kind of penalty
is the ones that is taken straight up, directly,
with confidence,
without any feints whatsoever.
Unfortunately Ronaldo didnt think so.
And his technique failed him in the most crucial of all matches.

Again, Ronaldo got lucky
(after missing once already at Barcelona)
cuz his teammates after him,
Hargreaves, Nani, Anderson all kept them alive.
Of course, with the help of John Terry's miss.

I really feel John Terry didnt deserve it.
He's probably one of the most influencial captains
and one of the best defenders England has seen.
Having brought his team all the way through a season
full of injuries and unsettled players and staff,
it all came down to just one kick from the penalty spot.

He slipped and he missed.

Cant imagine how he was feeling.

Van der Sar, on the other hand
became the hero of the day
as he saved Nicolas Anelka's penalty shot.

I gotta admit, luck was a huge part of this victory.
But why wud a Man Utd fan complain?
After 9 years, the Cup is returning to Old Trafford.
And Fergie hails one of the best Devils team
to ever grace the field ever since the golden generation
of 1999.

Back then, that fateful night in Barcelona,
when Man Utd took virtually the last 2 minutes of the game
to win the Cup.

Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, David Beckham, Teddy Sheringham,
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, Nicky Butt, Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs,
Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Jaap Stam, Peter Schmeichel
just to name a few.

Now in 2008,

Only Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes are the surviving members
of the 1999 side.
But joining them are Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez,
Wayne Rooney, Owen Hargreaves, Michael Carrick,
Park Ji Sung, Nani, Anderson
Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic, Wes Brown
and Edwin Van der Sar.

like wad Sir Alex Ferguson said,
this side is still young and theres still alot of time
for them to develop.

I hope this is just the start to many more great things to come.

BORN UNITED

LIVE UNITED

DIE UNITED
